Before you can build a squeeze page that really converts, you have to understand what a squeeze page is. Have you ever done a search on the internet for information and arrived at a website that gives you the best information about the product possible? This is what is called a squeeze page. It is designed to help you with list building, but it is also designed to give your visitors something that they are looking for. In most cases, you are giving something away completely free of charge, but in exchange for their information. This is one of the biggest elements of a high converting squeeze page, something very valuable at no cost to your visitors. You basically want to have your visitors beating down your door for your freebie and they want it so much that they are willing to give you any information you want.
However, the reality is that you only want their name and email address for list building purposes, so that later, you can write to them about your new fabulous product or start building a trusting relationship with them. Of course, after they have received their free product, they will likely be taken to your sales page. They may click the dreaded “x”, but that is ok, you can convince them later because now they are on your email list.
A high converting squeeze page should have some specific elements:
1. A compelling headline - this is the first thing your visitor reads, you have seven seconds to get their attention and interest.
2. Free Product - Yes, you want to give them something for nothing, this is crucial. It could be a report, an audio course, an eBook, or anything really as long as it is relevant and you boost it up to be something they cannot live without, but being honest about it at the same time.
3. A list building capture box - The squeeze page will be pointless if you are not capturing your visitor’s information. Offer a box that asks for their name and their email address in order to obtain your free product. Do not get too involved with details, all you need for list building is these two items.
If you have these elements and good copy, the rest will simply fall into place. A high converting squeeze page is going to do most of the work for you.
