If you’re looking to make money online, affiliate marketing just may be the answer to all your problems! Granted affiliate marketing isn’t a get rich quick scheme, however, if you are determined and patient, it could very well make you thousands of dollars a month! By definition Affiliate Marketing is an Internet-based marketing practice in which a business rewards an affiliate for each visitor or customer brought about by the affiliates marketing attempts. For instance, say an electronic business pays you 10% on all sales that you make and you make $1000 for that company then you would receive $100.
Okay so it isn’t that much but this was simply an example, and you can join a few programs or you can join a program that offers all sorts of products. So you could either sell electronics for the site above which would include; laptops, computers, audio systems, TVs, etc. Or you could join a site that sells electronics, digital products, gaming consoles and make X amount of percentages on each site.
So how does this work exactly? How do they keep track of you? In most all instances you will sign up for a program and receive a special affiliate ID. Lets say mine is Kristi667, so at the end of the link(s) available on the affiliate program I joined I would see Kristi667. Once you start advertising and marketing and even making affiliate sites, you will add THAT link with THAT affiliate id and this is how you will receive cookies.
In most instances you will get a cookie from that site for 15-90 days which means someone could click your link now and not buy anything, but that could come back to the site in 30 days and you will still get credit for the sale. It’s important to make sure the site you join does accept cookies or you could be missing out on sales!
Some sites will pay per sale, per lead, per sign up, etc. It really depends on the company you decide to join. Some people find it easier to sell and others find it easier to get people to sign up for things. Whatever you find you are the most comfortable with is the program that you should join! If you are really new to Affiliate Marketing and you want to test a few things out, go for it! As long as you follow the affiliate programs rules and guidelines, you can pretty much do whatever you want in order to make money and get those sales.
